January 17. 2004 19:07 Almost doneLast day of school today. We had the critique for the children's manga, then I gave Matt-sensei the list of the courses I took (so he can figure out the credits), chatted a bit with Patty, handed out chocolate from Finland to my classmates, collected my stuff, transferred the last of my CG files to my web server so I can take them home and left. I got a parting gift from the children's manga teacher, Ogiwara Masami-sensei, a small book of her illustrations, a small wall calendar and postcards ^__^ Her watercolour works are so beautiful! She was a very nice teacher. I also got the e-mail addresses of Hyu-na and Akiko (and Dion got Hyu-na's phone number too, hehehe, he's probably very happy cause she's a pretty girl *grin*). Ah, it's been so great here. I'm glad I'll be getting home to steady, good friends, though, and not that damn Dion who's so damn hard to deal with. First he's being nice and friendly and then he practically tells me to fuck off... It's driving me up the walls every now and then, like today. I try telling myself that he doesn't really mean all the things he says, but it still makes it really difficult to try and be friends with him when he frequently tells me that I'm not wanted around. I'd take that as a sign to stop being around, but then he comes to sit with me during lunch, which is again something you wouldn't do if you wanted the other to get lost. Aren't women supposed to be the illogical sex? Aah, he makes my head hurt. Anyway, I still kinda like him (on his good days at least), so I'll keep trying to figure him out until it's time to go. But! I spent yesterday (not with Dion & co. but) with Wuon-Gean and we had so much fun, and today I'm going to her place for a sleepover and to destroy the bottle of Salmiakki Koskenkorva I have! (That's alcohol. Strong and with black liquerice flavor.) I haven't seen her much before this, just in Kino-sai festival and a few times at the Japanese tutor, and I'm not sure how I should feel about this sudden change in the level of friendliness between us, but it was so much fun to hang around with her yesterday that I'm really excited ^_^ Yesterday, after I finished writing my angst and depression out, I sent the boys a sky mail telling I was going to the festival. They had apparently gone a lot earlier (Dion was really surprised that I was so late because I tend to get up so much earlier than him) and left the festival early, too. They couldn't see much, so Dion sent me a mail telling they went to Tom's exhibition, but I never got that until it was pretty late, so I didn't see them at all. I, on the other hand, got a very nice view, I was standing right at the end of the line of archery contestants. I spent 2 hours in total at the festival, some of it watching the temple but most watching them shoot. It was so great! There were older men, real pros, and younger men, students, and some girls with pretty hakama trousers and everything, probably celebrating their Coming of Age. The older ones' form was really nice, you could tell they had been doing it for a long time, but I kinda liked the students a bit more, because I could see their hesitation and how they thought carefully about each move ^_^ Some half an hour before the event as over Wuon-Gean tapped me on the shoulder and said hi. I had told her about the event a few days earlier and she was really happy she got there, too. We watched the contest until the end and then went to Tom's exhibition together. Tom's main work was okay, interesting but not mindblowing, but he had also made a CD of experimental music and that was great. It was all sampled and re-sampled out of a girl shouting "irasshaimase" in a shop. He had made some pretty good tracks out of it ^_^ After that Tom and Yuuko went for a dinner with some friends and I wanted to go shop a few souvenirs, and Wuon-Gean came with. It feels like she's actually very much like me in the way she's ready to change her plans and just go have fun all out of a sudden :D I got the last manga Akira and Aoneko asked for and then we went to a 100 yen shop to get Wuon-Gean some photo albums, and then we decided to do one of those photo booth things all out of a sudden (it was the most fun I've had in a while! :D) and then went to eat at an okonomiyaki place. Then we shopped, I got a sweater and she got a hat, and we both got these outrageous but kinda gorgeous silver knit shirts. They'll go well with a black dress with spaghetti straps ^_^ Then we went to Book-Off because I wanted to get the last Hikaru no Go and see if there was any Inu-Yasha, and I ended up spending almost 10 000 yen there O_o I found 5 CDs I've been looking for! Kenshin music and Marmalade Boy music! And I got a collection of Gackt's singles (there's Vanilla!) and an Orange Range single with their new song Hana. It's on the radio all the time and I like it so I wanted to buy it. Though I would've really wanted to get an album, one that would also have another song of theirs that plays in a cell phone commercial, because that song is even better. And then we went to the top floor, where I have never actually bothered to go before, and I found a Yoshitaka Amano artbook for 1000 yen. I'm convinced Wuon-Gean is my lucky charm, I found tons of great stuff with her ^_^ And shopping was so great with someone else! You just can't do it with boys and it's not the same alone. Even though I'm sad that I found someone to shop with only on the last week, it was still so great! ^__^ Wuon-Gean originally invited me to her place yesterday night, but since I had the bottle of alcohol I wanted to spend we changed it to today, so I could get it from home. We're meeting at nine thirty and cook something and then drink ^_^ Wow, I wish the boys were as excited to start instant parties like this! (Or, at least parties they'd invite me to, too. I think they went to some party yesterday, Dion said something like that today. Well, today I have my own plans, ha :P) By the way, Wuon-Gean just decided to have an exhibition yesterday, at the same place as Tom, in two weeks. She was a bit worried because it's so soon, but she's really excited, and I think it's a great idea too. Again something I could do myself if I had any work that could be shown in a gallery ^_^ The idea of having an "instant exhibition" in Japan is great ^_^ I just wish I was here to see it... Wow, I'm a bit nervous and really excited about tonight. I hope we'll have fun ^_^ |
