Slow progress

Nothing has happened since I last wrote here. I've been too busy with my internship and schoolwork to get anything done about the Japan trip. I don't think I've even received the formal application letter and dorm application forms etc. I should ask Mr. Rodgers soon about my courses and schedule for autumn, because I can't apply for anything before my school supervisor here accepts my schedule. Well, maybe next week, when I get my essays done...

I've been lagging behind with my Japanese language studies, too. I haven't been doing my homework for weeks, because I have so much else to do... But I'm going to sharpen up next week. We only have a few classes left, and I'm going to have a presentation about Finland or my school the last day. We all have to do something, and I thought I might as well practice telling about myself and Finland, because I'll have to do that in autumn anyway. After the classes are over, I'm going to concentrate on my kanji learning book, because I really have to learn more kanji before I go. And I might read through my Japanese book again, just to refresh my memory. And I want to go through the last chapters, which we (probably) won't have time to go through in class. After that, I guess I'll have to find more learning material, or just watch anime and read manga a lot ^_^

By the way, WHO's website had some wrong information. It said there I don't need any vaccine shots when I go to Japan, but actually I need two. I found that out at our local Red Cross when I went to donate blood. Maybe those shots are only needed on long vacations, but still, I think it's a bit wrong for WHO to not display that fact on their website. Hepatitis B is actually something we get vaccined against automatically here in Finland (and it's not even that common in Japan), but Japanese encephalitis is something new for me. So a couple of more things to take care of (I added them to the "list of things to do" from the last entry). Well, next week I'll get into it... Or the week after that... Hopefully...
