November 19. 2004 23:16 Letters!Waai! I got a letter from Laalaa today!! ^_________________________^ (A smile wider than the distance between us.) I got a postcard from Tsu earlier and it was great, but getting a real letter from L is even better ^__^ The funny thind is I just wrote her a letter yesterday and put it in the mailbox today, so I'll have to write another one right away if I want to answer the questions she asked :D But I don't mind, I feel like writing tons of letters now! I love real, paper letters, and I so want to touch my girlfriends over the distance now ^__^ (The only problem with writing letters is that then I don't feel like writing in this diary anymore, overdose of writing :P) I've been feeling so good about being here lately! It doesn't feel like I'm in a different country at all, it feels just like home. Like I just haven't been seeing my friends in a while, but they're not that far away, and I'm just fine taking some time alone for a while. Getting letters from them is so nice, it makes it feel even more like home, like they're really close. (Though at some points, when they tell about the life there, I want to go there and have fun with them... And then I feel sad for a while :( ) English lessons are one of the most enjoyable moments here, by the way. For a whole 1,5 hours I can speak all English and everyone understands me. And there I can somehow talk more freely than with the exchange students. It's partly because there's just me plus one person and the teacher, and because I feel like they're interested in what I'm talking about. The other exchange students are more of that "party type", and it always takes me a bit of an effort to find things that are easy to talk about with that type. (And Dion is just from another world with his attitude.) In the English class we're talking about culture, so I can talk about Finland as much as I like, or what I like or what I'm interested about. Today I told them about the high school system and my "graduation course" in art in high school. I had forgotten how much fun that was, and how I love archery. I really need to get my arrows fixed when I get home so I can start doing it again. The teacher suggested I try Japanese archery, but it's a bit too complicated for me. I like my archery the "primal style" ^_^ It's been a while since I used the Copic markers, I've been too busy with other stuff, but today I drew some cherry trees for a convention some friends are arranging, and I remembered how great they are to colour with. I really want to do some more! But tomorrow I'll draw the NaNoManga all day. Maybe I can do a couple of colour images for that, but it's more important to get the story finished now. I don't think I can do the toning in time, but at least the inking. That time when I fell with my bike, I think the handle of my bike got hit then, and during the last couple of weeks it got really loose. First I was just wondering why the brakes were suddenly in such a strange angle, but then I noticed the whole thing was a bit crooked and loose. Today it got so loose it actually started to feel dangerous riding that bike. But I went to the International Office and Ken-san fixed it with one of those six-sided screwdriver things (I have no idea what they are in English, I hardly know the name in Finnish O_o) and now the handle is comfortably firm ^_^ Well, I guess there's not much more to talk about today. I've just been writing letters yesterday and today ^_^ I love it. (I just keep repeating that...) Letters and this place feeling just like home, that about sums all that's been in my mind for the last two days. ... Damn, I'm so bad at finishing my writings. I can't finish essays well either. I really need to learn how to finish a text right. ... Aa, I just watched the end of Mononoke hime from the TV... More homey feelings. (It qualifies as one of those good movies that are so hard to catch here, not least because I've seen it enough times to understand the plot even though it's all it Japanese.) It's such a shame that I don't know the TV programs, I can ever watch anything from the TV. Okay, I know there's anime on at 19 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and at 18 on Fridays, but none of them is interesting enough to watch. There's also something at 12 at night on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but that's too late for me. But the girl who was watching Mononoke hime (the same girl that's an Inu-Yasha fan) said there are different movies on at 21 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so I might try and catch some of those. She's some media student, by the way, I asked her. And she must be from someplace warm, because she's always cold here ^_^ (I was in my yukata next to her while she was wearing a winter coat... Ehehe ^_^;) |
